( 6 ) Security Exchange Board of India (SEBI) reconstituted 20 members Market Data Advisory Committee (MDAC) to recommend policy measures in areas like securities market data access and privacy. The 6 important current affairs points are ( 1 ) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank continue to be identified as Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs). Under RBI’s ‘Framework for dealing with D-SIBs’, SBI is placed in the third bucket, whereby it is required to maintain Additional Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) at 0.60 percent of its Risk-Weighted Assets (RWAs). ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank are placed in the first bucket, whereby they are required to maintain Additional CET1 at 0.20 percent of their RWAs . ( 2 ) Scientists have identified a new strain of the virus in Southern France. It is named as ‘IHU’, the B.1.640.2 variant) . ( 3 ) Electronic gold receipts (EGRs), are instruments representing gold. The 6 important current affairs points are ( 1 ) The Finance Ministry has exempted Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI) from providing information about new clients within ten days of their joining. directs that the provisions of Sub-rule (1A) of Rule 9 of the Prevention of Money-laundering (Maintenance of Records) Rules, 2005 shall not apply to the Foreign Portfolio Investor. Rule 9 relates to Client Due Diligence. Sub-rule 1(A) says that every reporting entity will within ten days after the commencement of an account-based relationship with a client, file the electronic copy of the client’s KYC records with the Central KYC Records Registry. Now, FPIs are exempt from this . ( 2 ) Currently, There are four Credit Information Companies (CICs) — Credit Information Bureau (India) Ltd (CIBIL), Equifax Credit Information Services Pvt Ltd, Experian Credit Information Company of India Pvt Ltd, and CRIF High Mark Credit Information Services Pvt Ltd. These companies are governed by the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act (CICRA) in 2005 . ( 3 ) Ministry of Culture has partnered with the Common Services Centres (CSC), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) to undertake India’s first-ever cultural survey of its villages titled ‘Mera Gaon, Meri Dharohar’ through a mobile application .
